Heavy rain in the night. We're in no particular rush to move but when we open the blinds we see Claudie has put out a home-made union flag.
Before we leave she gives us tourism maps and tells us a long list of places we may find interesting.
We decide to follow the canal back to where it meet the river Garonne. The grey day means it's not as attractive as might have been but still nice to see. At one lock a man is clearing leaves from the lock, sending them through the culvert to join the russet raft which is barely moving.
At the meeting point, Castets-en-Dorthe, we use the service area to slop out then park on the canalside for lunch. Afterwards Ali, Nick and Grete go for a walk ard return with a bag full of recently fallen walnuts.
We thought about heading back to Duras but after a lengthy lunch stop and with declining weather we set our sights nearer for Monsegur, via a trip to any supermarket we see en route.
The huge Intermarche at La Reole swallows over an hour and soon after we leave, in the middle of tea-time traffic and a deluge, we remember the aire in La Reole which we visited in 2014.
It is free, empty but for two cyclists in a tiny sodden tent, and we are set up well before dusk looking out over the river. Ali and Grete peel the black, wet husks from the walnuts.
Later in the evening three more MoHo's join us and the rain stops.
Greet cooks a tasty casserole with pork the bought on their last Passion.
