Last night was either heavy dew or light rain judging by the drops on the skylights and it's quite cloudy and much milder at 19C. When Ali closes the awning the resulting waterfall suggests it was rain.
We look through the books to select a stop for tonight and find an inviting aire at Tintaniac, 79 miles away. After some of the roads n this trip today is a straightforward hop along a good few miles of dual carriageway around Laval and into eastern Brittany. The scenery here and around Rennes is neither unattractive nor remarkable as the miles roll down. Like Friday and Saturday, alot of it is famliar from previous journeys.
Tinteniac is just off the motorway so it's only 2km from there through the town to the aire.
It's a beautiful spot beside the canal with 10 MoHo spaces right next to half a dozen pleasure craft, much like places we stayed in Holland but here it's warm at 23C, not 7!
Coffee and a Jaffa cake set us up for a walk to town although nothing is open being Monday afternoon but we find a cashpoint and a sign for Super-U 300m away and go to get some food for dinner. We can still only buy fresh stuff daily with the fridge playing up although it lit on gas today when we stopped driving.
Once everything is delivered back to the van Ali gets out her bike and we set off along the towpath. There isn't much to say about canalside walk that hasn't already been written in this log, but as usual the slow water, reflections, flowers and trees are all very lovely. We pass a lock [ecluse] and lockhouse [maison de ecluse]. Cyclists, joggers and walkers pass by or overtake us and all but the most serious say bonjour or bonsoir. A couple of miles is enough as time is getting on so we turn around and make our way back to the aire.
Our neighbours are a friendly couple from the west coast of Ireland so we have a chat with them before the collector arrives to take €3 for tonights parking then get inside to cook dinner. Marinated chicken followed by a treat of chocolate pudding.
