During our last few days we've just been chilling out after our hardcore sightseeing. Today we just went to Safeway to get all the coins we've accumulated changed into proper money using one of those machines that counts it for you. We had about $9 worth so we redeemed it against our last grocery shop.
Then we walked to the British Shop to get our last tin of overpriced Heinz Baked Beans. On the way back home we went into Mel's Diner, which is a chain that claims to make the "thickest milkshakes in town". We hadn't had a milkshake since being in America, or any pie, so Steve had a Strawberry Milkshake and Banana Cream Pie and I ordered a Chocolate Milkshake and Cherry Pie à la mode, so it came warm with a giant scoop of ice cream. The milkshakes were really good and they give you the can they make it in which has the remainder that they can't fit into the glass so you really get your money's worth. Steve's milkshake had real strawberries in it, which made it pretty difficult to suck up thru the straw, but he really enjoyed it.

Today we had to take our airbed back to Sports Basement as it was deflating within a couple of hours again! We were hoping for a refund but as we originally bought it more than 30 days ago they could only offer us store credit of $50. So Steve bought a winter jacket which was $100 so he had to shell out $50, but we have basically rented an airbed for 2 months for free!
Then we went into Cinematico because James needed Steve's help with some work. It was good to see everyone again and we had a long chat with Pascal which was really cool as we didn't get a chance to go out with him and his wife Kat and see their baby Lily. Hopefully we'll keep in touch and Pascal can recommend more good books for me to read!
