Francis Hey Mandy Enjoy reading your blogs. Sounds like you are enoying SF mostly apart from a few unpleasant experiences. Seems you are adapting quite quickly to life in a big US city. Regarding shopping for household things, Target is the place to go. Check on line for address, the nearest ones are in Colma, Daly City or Tenforan - either by bus or BART. Worth checking out Chinatown shops as well. In SF downtown, need to go to department stores like Macy, Nordstrom. May be Steve's friends at work can help with ideas. Mandy Hey Mum! Thanks for the tip about Treasure Island! Tapas is traditional spanish food which is normally served for free in bars in Spain as little nibbles when you order drinks. When you eat tapas in restaurants the concept is similar to Dim Sum, in that you order lots of the little dishes and share. I don't know what the food will be like where you're visiting in the US as you're visiting lots of different places. The best tip I can give you is only order a main course as the portions are huge! Mum Treasure Island is a good place to visit, so I heard. What are Tapas?? Mandy, you have to give me tips on what to order in USA. In my holiday package, not all meals are inclusive. I think you need to wear a cycle helmet to go out!! (A joke). Love you
