Today we went off to meet Martin at his workplace. We walked there and it took us around 45 minutes in the blazing sun! Apparently SF is experiencing a heatwave as it was around 28C/84F today.
We managed to find Martin's workplace after asking around and it looks like a cool place. Quite a few people work there and we met some of his colleagues and got to watch an episode of what they're working on.
Martin took us out for lunch at a local sushi restaurant which was really cool. Me and Steve shared a bento box which had miso soup, rice, salad and a choice of 2 items so we picked teriyaki chicken as a safe choice and california rolls on Martin's recommendation, which were surprisingly nice as they had crab stick and avocado which I don't normally like! The whole meal was really good and really cheap so I can see why Martin goes there all the time!
We decided to get the bus back to the hotel to test out the route and also because it was too hot to walk! We were a bit unsure that the bus was going the right way but some kind people on the bus helped us out. The people are really helpful and friendly here. Earlier when we were looking for the bus stop near our hotel we must have looked really confused as a lady walking past asked us if we needed help and she explained where the bus stop was - just stand on the corner of the road! No wonder we couldn't find it!
When we got back we were really knackered so just chilled out back at the hotel until we had to drag our weary bodies out to get some food. We only managed to get as far as a local Indonesian restaurant, a few doors down from the Thai place we went to yesterday, there's loads of Asian places here! I ordered some stir-fried egg noodles with chicken, prawns and veggies and Steve had rice and lamb curry and everything was really good.
Once again we zonked out pretty early when we got back to the hotel, it's such an effort trying to adjust to american time!
