Krystal's Travels
Happy Easter everyone!
Yesterday was a lot of fun. Kali, Beth, and I met up with some of the other people at the zoo yesterday. We pretty much lost them right away but it was just as well because it was really crowded. It was a really nice day, almost 60 degrees. Of course that's nothing to the record highs I keep hearing about at home! I've decided that the St. Louis Zoo has me extremely spoiled, mostly because it's free. The Leipzig Zoo was 10 euros to get in (about $12 I guess). But we had fun despite the expense and the massive crowd. The monkeys were quite fun to watch. There were so many babies! Not just monkeys but everywhere. There was even a baby sheep that had just been born within the hour. It was still a little wet when we got there and we may have seen its first steps. Wow, that was so cool to witness. It's not everyday you get to go to the zoo and see a newborn animal. Pretty cool.
Last night I went to Moritzbastei with everyone. They actually played more decent music this time. However, they seem to do it in spurts, with either bad or undanceable music in between. We just need to figure out how to get away from the creepy Indian guys that seem to think it's okay to grab at us. Not cool. We moved away from them pretty quickly though. Even if they didn't try to move in on us we would still have to get away cause I swear they hadn't taken a shower in a year. Ugh. But enough of that.
Today I don't really have any plans. I think some of us might get together and cook dinner. That would be nice. Of course it won't be at my place though. No way. Not enough room and I don't have an oven if we would need one.
I do really miss my family today though. It's the first major holiday that I've been away from them. Luckily I've made good friends here to help me not miss everyone as much.
