I usually come on here and complain. I think it might be something I do very well. But then again, I think everyone has that quality. Well, I decided to write just now for different reasons. But we all know that I tend to ramble so what starts out as the original topic ends up being something completely different.
Let us take a look at my life from the past few weeks.
1. I think we'll start with the obvious - I'M IN ENGLAND!! Hellooooo, once in a lifetime opportunity.
2. I am gaining some fantastic friendships here, who wouldn't be happy!?
3. I received a grant for $4,000 this summer to work with nonprofits. Okay, thank you, because that's exactly what I want to do with my life.
4. After tirelessly applying to a crap ton of internships, I sent an email to Make-A-Wish Foundation in Indy asking about the status of my application. Welp, they have never received it so I shot an email over to them quickly and they wanted an interview. After setting up a time for a phone call via Skype for me and a telephone conference call for them (Thanks Emmitt!!!), we had an awesome interview. 6 hours later I had the job. Can I just mention that Make-A-Wish is like my dream job!?! I'm going places!!
5. Umm...oh yeah, I'm going to be an AUNT!!! How exciting is that?!! I wish Meg lived closer so I can spoil the crap out of this kid ASAP, but I'll do what I can!
6. I got my first grade back which was for a group presentation for my film, femininity, and feminism class. I got a 68, now don't freak out because that is basically a B+ or A-. 70 and above is like an A+. Don't criticize it people, it's the way it works. They pretty much believe that the work should be so amazing by their third year, that it would be able to be published so they should be receiving 80s and 90s. But I'll deal with my 68!
7. I'm going to Ireland on Friday!!!! and then off to Rome, Venice, and Paris on April 3!!!
8. Now nothing is ever perfect but I wish that I could say it was. Although something is not working out right now, I think that if I give it some time, things will get better. But I also think I should no longer have the mentality that "what's meant to be will happen" , well maybe a little bit, but I think action is required. I'll let it ride for awhile, give some space. Plus, I'll be gone for awhile, so it'll give some time as well. But I'm not really one to sit around and watch something pass me by.
