I survived my first class!!!!
Now if you know me well, you know I freak out at just about anything new. (Clearly, this blog shows that =] ) But as I was waiting outside my classroom with the 6 other Americans that had class right across from me, but not with me, I was freaking out because I was so scared I was going to be singled out. The class runs for the entire semester so everyone in that class already knew each other. Then luckily for me, Nikki walks up and she has the same class. I hugged her. Seriously, that's how relieved I was. Laura walked up and said she had the same class. So I was breathing easier.
The class wasn't terrible. Our tutor(not professor) kept referring to novels we had not read so we kinda just nodded in agreement and took some serious notes. She then put us into groups to discuss certain ideas. Of course the Americans, who hadn't read the book, were all put together...so we fabricated some answer, which turned out great if you ask me!
Well then after 2 hours, class was over and Carson and Louise had waited for me so we all walked back together, almost got hit by a bicycle and was called a stupid idiot...which seems redundant right? Anyways, I'm trying to look up the novels that we have to read so hopefully I can find them free/cheap for my kindle.
Earlier a group of us had walked to Park campus. Let me tell you, that is a hike. It probably took a little more than 40 minutes. I have class there two times a week, talk about being in shape right? Well in the process of going on a tour, we discovered the international office. (It's beyond weird to be considered international by the way.) But we saw a flyer for trips they can take us on. The next one is for Liverpool and it's a day trip on January 28 and only 20 pounds! so that's roughly $36 or so..not too bad considering that's transportation and admittance into the Beatles Museum included. I'm sooooo excited for it!!!!
I'm actually getting more and more excited as each day progresses. Of course I'm nervous, but so thrilled to be here. I've asked a few people and it really hasn't hit anyone that we'll be here until may. I swear I think I'll be going home soon. I know it'll fly by, but each day seems to go so slow!
Well I have my British Literature class tomorrow so let's hope that goes well!
