European Adventure 2017
After an early morning wake up from the resident rooster and a few bellows from the cows as they traipsed back into the cow shed we woke to find that we had run out of gas over night so the fridge was flashing at us. Good timing I guess as we will be able to get a new bottle in the UK but we needed to get some boiling water from the others for breakfast. Poor Lidka managed to tip an entire cup of tea over her while in bed this morning and it went right through all the bedding and into the mattress as well as scolding her legs! Not a great start to the day. It is a dull and wet day as we leave France. We have all loved it here and are sorry to say goodbye but doubt it will be the last time we are here. We got to the ferry early so managed to get an earlier sailing again and this time we were on deck 3 of 7. It's so amazing the amount of rolling stock these things carry and we passed three other ferries from the same company on the way over. Obviously the school holidays here have just started as there were rows of caravans and Motorhomes lined up to get on. Back on British soil and it starting raining again so as we were too early to check into the camping ground what better to do than stop at a pub for lunch! By the time we had finished it was clearing nicely and we were all set for setting up camp and doing the washing etc. There is a definite difference between the French and English camps. These are much more regimented, everyone equally spaced out and backing up to the white marker is extremely important (John & Shirley will remember this) this camp has a little model on the desk to educate you as to how to park! and there is a distinct lack of personality, especially this one with signs saying no skate boards, no balls, and any biking has to one way on the one way road. There are plenty of caravans but the people all seem to be inside with no groups chatting. However it is nice getting back to toilets with seats and all the other comforts we expect to find. Maybe the Kiwis will liven things up later!

Shirley It took us sometime & several nights camping to read the instructions re the parking!. Sounds like you got a pedantic one!. Your. France blogs have certainly whetted our appetite for next time. At the Bach & have had beautiful cold frosty mornings & glorious days - only one fish caught!.
