Day 36. We arrived in good order at Fitzroy Crossing. Staying at Fitzroy River Lodge in the banks of the mighty Fitzroy River. A lovely park! The drive was again through some lovely country, but different to the stunning country around Kununurra and Halls Creek. Again we shared the driving and RM learned how to work the iPod! Now he just has to learn to knit so that between us, we can finish Lucas's jumper in time for his ski trip!

Days 35 and 36. We farewell beautiful Kununurra, our friends Fred and Savanah, Helen and Kevin. Mal and Vickie, Michelle and their dog BB have already left for the Bungles. They were all a terrific support during RM's medical emergency. We took in flowers and a thank you card to the staff at the K. Hospital and a thank you card for the office staff at Hidden Valley CP. Day 34. Had lunch at the Pump Room Restaurant on Lake Kununurra to celebrate RM's birthday of last Thursday. It was a lovely cool day so we could sit out on the deck overlooking Lake Kununurra. The barramundi was delicious and the Sangria was OK too. Off towards Broome tomorrow, taking it at our usual slow pace. Kununurra is a great place to spend some time, but we are glad to be moving on again. There is such a lot to see!

Day 34. Spent a lovely morning looking at a couple of art galleries here and taking in the Kununurra Markets. Nadeen Lovell is a local artist who has produced a breathtaking panoramic wall sized painting of the Bungle Bungles which hangs in her gallery. She really captures the geography around here, as do the other artists who exhibit in her gallery. However both RM and JM really love aboriginal art and the two galleries here we have seen are full of amazing pict...

Day 32 and 33. Today we made an early start. We were driven the 70 ks to Lake Argyle where we took a 2 hour cruise on this amazing lake, or rather, inland sea. The boat has to be ocean going to cruise the lake. It is called the Kimberley Durack after the man who had the vision to dam the Ord and provide this amazing water resource. The water vanishes over the horizon like the Pacific Ocean. Calm when we there, it can have 2 metre waves. Then on to the Durack home...
