Days 46. Drove to Point Samson from deGrey. We lost a suitcase from our roof rack near the Port Hedland turnoff. Fortunately, it did not hit anyone or our caravan. We heard the noise but it took us a bit of time to work out what had happened. I was driving of course and had to steer the charabanc setup off the road in heavy traffic! Under RM's guidance, this was achieved. We had just stopped when a truck screeched to a halt beside us and the driver leapt out, smiling. "You lost a suitcase?" he said. And low and behold, he produced it from his truck. How good is that! He was going the other way but he turned around, picked up the case and followed us back up the road. What an amazing man! The case appears undamaged as well.
We are staying at a 5 star caravan park for a change. They usually don't take dogs but The Cove does. We have sea views from the van and are right next to the gate to the beach and attractive walkway around the town, port and beaches. Tonight, it being a full moon, we saw the phenomena known as The staircase to the moon. The light from the full moon rising over the sea creates what looks like a staircase running up to the moon. It is famous in Broome, but occurs here as well. The moon looks quite red for a while with a red aura around it. We just had to walk out the gate and along the path to see it occur. Spectacular!
