Day 70. Still on Cowell, we noticed that you can get a ferry - you, caravan, people and pets - from Cowell across Spenser's Gulf. We also noticed that Sing Australia and our own Colin Slater have a branch here in Cowell! Day 69 and 70. The town of Streaky Bay is very pretty and it has many lovely 19th century buildings and cottages. SA has retained so much of its heritage and really looks after it. That combined with its setting on the bay make it a most attractive destination. We had to purchase a microwave here as ours has stopped working so we left a few shekels here. Day 68. We left Fowler's Bay in better weather and motored down to Streaky Bay, stopping at Ceduna for a look and to stock up on fruit and veg. Ceduna is a well set up town and worth the visit. Then on to Streaky Bay through country almost like the rolling hills above Swanage in the UK. Very green. Like Fowler's Bay, it was named by Mathew Flinders and was a base for EJ Eyre. Day 66 and 67. Drove on over the Nullarbor and the Great Australian Bight came into view as the Eyre Highway wended its way along the coast. We passed by Eucla heading for Fowler's Bay on the Bight. We gobbled up our fruit as we passed into SA but no-one checked. This happened on day 68 at Ceduna.
