Day 64, 65. Into the 10th week, we drove down through Norseman and onto the Nullarbor. Using Camps6 again, we chose Fraser Range Station, as it as power and water, hard to find in the next couple of days. It is getting cold at night and especially in the mornings, so it is nice to be able to use the heater. The Station is a gem as well. Very well maintained and quite picturesque. Days 61, 62 and 63. Friday, we drove through Kalgoorlie to Coolgardie from Leonora to a funny little CP. It is very dog friendly , with a couple of resident dogs, 4 kelpies in a van next to us en route to yard dog trials, and Dennis the Poodle in another van. Also Kellie the blue healer. Day 60. We reached Leonora in time for lunch. Then we drove out to the preserved town of Gwalia and the Gwalia gold mine. I have been there before but RM had not seen it. It is a shanty town, preserved as it was for a hundred years. People lived there until a mere 40 years ago. Day 59. Headed through more 'outback' for Leinster. There were a few early heath wildflowers out on the way. We saw an emu (male) with 6 chicks! We drove through Sandstone on the way. Another old gold mining town with a couple of lovely old buildings. Leinster on the other hand is a new BHP town with nary an historic building in sight. It is very neat and tidy. Day 58. Officially drove into 'the outback' today, according to roadside signage. We wondered if we had therefore left the 'inback'. Or the 'infront'?
