Day 54 and 55. We drove from Quobba towards Geraldton, stopping in the early afternoon at Gladstone Lookout. The view from here is interesting. We are high up and we look over mudflats to the sea in the far distance. The sunset was beautiful, particularly with a scotch and ice. We have 3G coverage amazingly. It must be the height. So we had a long conversation with Calum and Lucas and Annabelle. I even managed a bit of Mad as hell on iview, before the connection gave up the ghost!
Next day we made for historic Northampton, just short of Geraldton. Again our quest for a dog friendly CP and use of Camps6 came up trumps - a nice van park in a very well kept historic town. And there are 3 pubs within walking distance. After many days without power or water connections, we are able to do some housework and washing, as well as take in the sights. And we have lawn instead of red dirt. The drive down moved from boring to interesting as we moved into improved agricultural land and rolling hills. This area has been settled since the mid 19th century. The buildings in the town are lovely!
