Days 52 and 53. After another morning fighting the Bullara horses for our breakfast and a final open air shower, we set off for Quobba Point near Carnarvon. It is a lovely beach camp site with the added feature of blowholes. We arrived about 4pm and had time for a long walk along the beach and up some steep sand dunes. There is a huge warning sign at the blowholes about King Waves and their ability to kill. We kept an eye out!
As usual with these free or 'freeish' camp sites, as the sun goes down, the peace is shattered by the dulcet tones of generators! Fortunately, they shut down around 9pm.
Next day we drove into Carnarvon. This town is a bit reminiscent of Leeton as it is the food bowl of WA. More bananas than stone fruit but similar. It is also an old seafaring town and still has a fishing fleet.
