Rich is very excitable this week as he is collecting the boat on Thursday.
Drove to Freemantle to collect the boat and all its accessories, really looking forward to using it over the coming weeks especially as we head nto summer. Whilst collecting boat and towing it back to mandurah i began to get my first signs of contractions, they did seem to get closer together. I think Rich thought he would be turning up at the hospital with boat, quite literally, in tow !! I insisted (although in quie a bit of pain) that we go home and drop off the boat. As these things do though whilst at home things seemed to stop, however we still went to hospital to be checked, all was ok, probably just braxton hicks.
i visited my Dr on friday for weekly check up he advised if there was no appearance by the following thursday (13th) then he would induce me, i dont think they let you go too far past your due date here - dont know why didnt ask !!
Out here to drive a boat you need to hold a 'Skippers Ticket' effectively a driving license for the boat. Rich had to do a theory and practical exam / test which he of course passed flying colours !!
Sunday 9th - Richards Birthday and first time of getting the boat in the water. Rich was really impressed with all aspects of the boat, was very fast however he has to resist and run the engine in for 20 hours first before he can completely let it go, perhaps this would bring on labour !! I even managed to lay on the dolphins for Richs birthday, right in front of him !!
A few of Rich's work collegues popped in to see him when we got home and to see the boat !
Eventually got to bed around 11pm, we were just saying that the baby was safe to make an appearance, now that 1 of our 3 birthdays had passed. I personally didnt want the baby to have share with Rich. When all of a sudden ................. my waters broke!!!!!1130pm we called the hospital, they said to come on in. We dropped Finn at one of my friends house to stay the night.
Contractions began around midnight, perhaps every 10 mins and didnt really alter throughout the night, i didnt get a great deal of sleep !!
In the morning after a slow start contractions started in ernest around 10am and at 1320hrs on Monday 10th 'Fraser George' was born weighing a staggering 9lb 1oz, 53 cm long and looked just like Finn did apart from all the swelling and bruiing that Finn suffered.
Rich brought Finn in to meet his baby brother, luckily Fraser had already managed to get a gift ready to give to Finn, so Finn was a happy little man and appeared quite taken by Fraser.
Hospital was fab, they have rooms here as apposed to wards with just 2 beds per room, i was o my own in my room which was great. Food was really good and staff were excellent. Being the only one out of 11 other women currently in the maternity hospital that had given birth naturally i was treated a bit like a star pupil !!
