Life in Oz!
I went to look for Linda to see if I could get the Whitsundays info but she didn't know what sailing trip they were going on so she was going to talk to Isabel and get back to me later this afternoon. Matilda lives close so I went to talk to her for a while and she said Dani and some other Germans were going to Sydney and that maybe I could go with them if the Whitsundays didn't work out. I came back here and checked airline prices of Sydney and Whitsunday. It would be a little bit cheaper to fly to Sydney but I am flying out of there to go home and was planning on spending my last few days there. Whitsunday would be a lot warmer but more expensive. If I don't go now I probably won't get a chance to go, so I don't know what I want to do. I called Dani and asked if I could maybe go with them and she agreed but they are leaving at 7pm tonight. So I have to decide quick. I stopped by Linda's room to see if she had found out how I could contact the sailing company and she called Isabel to get the phone number. I called and they still have room but I will have to sleep on an air mattress on the boat with the crew instead of in the accommodations with everyone else for 1 of the nights. Fine with me, I'm up for an adventure! I checked online and I was able to book tickets for the same flight as everyone else, a little more expensive but that's what you get for booking the day before! I called the sailing company back and booked my ticket for the trip! I have a marine tax and stinger suite hire I have to pay for when I get there but other wise I'm good to go. Everyone has to pay the marine tax when the go to the reef and we need the stinger suite so we don't die from the jelly fish, I guess they have the deadly ones up there. I am really excited! I'm not sure exactly what we are doing besides the boat thing but that's alright. We fly out of Brisbane tomorrow evening, leave for the excursion on Sunday morning, and get back Tuesday afternoon. I'm not sure what we are doing until Friday but we leave there early evening to fly back to Brisbane. I checked the weather and it's supposed to be beautiful...23 - 30C (75-80F) I think! You know what they say about Queensland...Beautiful one day, perfect the next! If you want to check out where I will be, go here... http://www.whitsundays-australia.com/default.php and if you want to see Reality Is, the yacht I will be on, go here... http://www.sailingwhitsundays.com/overnight_crewed/reality_is.htm. I quick run to campus to print off my flight conformation turned it in a good 45 minutes because I had to find a 24-hour computer lab (library is closed till Tuesday for Easter) that would let me add value to my print card. We have to pay to print here and in order to print you have to stick a card into a machine that you have put money on. Once I found a station that I could add value to my card it wouldn't let me log on to print so I had to go back to a different lab again to actually print the one piece of paper that I needed. Ohh well, all I did when I got back was watch TV and talk to Craig for a while anyway. I did get to meet Jeremy's sister and her boyfriend/friend who is visiting from New York. They were really nice and fun to talk to. Happy early birthday wishes go out to my nephews Mark and Philip! I will also be thinking of Grandma.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter...I will be thinking of you while I'm snorkelling! Don't forget to leave me a message on my message board about how jealous you are! Haha, just kidding...kinda ;) Thanks to everyone that has left me a message so far, I love reading you comments! The award for most comments so far goes out to my wonderful Aunt Mary, thanks!
