Life in Oz!
I only have class at noon but I got up at 9am so I could go to the Morning Tea that the international office hosted for all of us international students. It was from 10-11 so I was expecting breakfast food but it was all the junk food you could eat. They had fruit and doughnuts there but most of it was chips, dip and cookies. Joanna told me about a trip her and some of her friends are attending on Sunday. It is through the international office but we have to pay a small fee for it. We will be going to the Hinterland. We will be going on a few wine tours, cheese factory, Emu Park, and a forest and waterfall walk. I think it will be a lot of fun and I'm excited to go. I attempted to read what we were supposed to for my Walking Sites class but I got bored and Matilda walked by so I talked to her before I went to class instead. Class was ok but I was getting really tired by the time we finally got a break. After our break, we all had to present a heritage site that we have seen or found on the internet. I was going to talk about some rock carvings in Australia that I found on the internet but I decided to talk about the Dachau concentration camp instead. We weren't going to have time to get through everyone so I was hoping that I would get to go next week so I could prepare for Dachau but I ended up being the last one to present. We got out about 20 minutes early which was nice. I went to Woolworth's with Joanna for something to do and then hung out with Emma. She grilled a sandwich with chicken, avocado, cheese, Caesar dressing type stuff, vegemite and chilli chips. She gave me half, it actually wasn't too bad. You couldn't really taste the vegemite and the chips just made it a little spicier. I BBQ'ed with Sara and Keise. I made more of my chicken kebabs, yum yum. We hung out at the pavilion for awhile once we were done eating and then I went to Joanna's apartment because I had planned to go to Friday's with her and some other friends. We had to take the 9:15pm bus to get there so we were there by before 10 again. It was fairly quiet at first but then it started to fill up again. It wasn't quite as packed at last week but it was still pretty full. I ran into Whittney, one of the girls in my group, and got to talk to her so that was fun. I also met a random Kiwi but I forgot his name. I got a maxi taxi back with sara, Martin, Shane, Keise, Keise's friend and Nicola-an Italian guy. Sara, Shane, Martin and I hung out in Sara's apartment for a while before going upstairs to meet some of her neighbours. One of them ended up being from Marshal, MN and goes to Concordia. I thought Alan lived with Rob but I guess he lives with the girls we met in that apartment.
