Life in Oz!
As international students, we had to attend a Living and Studying in Australia session. It was 2 hours long again and not the most exciting thing ever. A police officer came and talked about being safe, the told us about the trips we can take free for being study abroad, about academics, being safe at the beach and culture shock. After that was over Sara, her Swedish mate Keise (sp?) and I headed back to UniCentral to get into the pool. I didn't go swimming though because I got too burnt yesterday. I have a blister on one of my shoulders and everything. I knew that aloe would come in handy that I brought with. I had to sit in the shade of the pavilion. It was torture to watch everyone swim and a few people came by and asked if I wanted to go with to the beach but I knew I couldn't be in the sun today because I hurt bad enough already. Once I got too depressed, I hung out in my room for a while so I could update my journal (sorry it took so long) and got ready to go to the beach party the Uni was sponsoring. I hung out in Melinda, Kristy, Tim and Andy's room for a while with some other random people and then we headed off to the Uni. I walked over with Melinda and somewhere along the way she lost both her Uni and 18+ I.D.s. We tried looking for them and asked the security guards but so far no one had turned anything in. She ended up going back to her apartment because it was an 18+ party and you needed to prove you were a Uni student. I found Sara, Martin and Shane so I hung out with them most of the time. It was really fun, they had a DJ and there were tons of people there to meet and talk to. Right before it was over it started to rain, no one seemed to care and we kept dancing anyway. Once it was over Sara came back to my apartment with me, we talked for a while, and then after she left my roommate Diego and his friend David came back. They were both pissed (drunk) and really funny so I ended up staying up for a while longer talking to them.
