Well our time in New Zealand has come to an end and it only felt like yesterday we landed in Auckland. The whole camping experience has been brilliant and we really enjoyed it. I would say we would camp in Australia, but Lynz is a little worried about spiders, so we don't know yet!! When we got to Auckland we had no idea how we were going to travel to Christchurch and what places we wanted to visit on our way, but renting a car was probably the best way to do it. Just going at your own pace and stopping wherever you please and not having the stress about getting up early in the morning to catch trains etc, made the trip in New Zealand easy and comfortable. In total we drove 3104km, which is 1940 miles in 37 days. Good job the petrol over here is cheap!! We've spent three days here, the first was spent just relaxing round the campsite, which had a swimming pool and cinema, we didn't fancy sightseeing on this day as it was just too hot to walk round a city. We did venture into the city yesterday and took a look round, Christchurch is a really nice place and very clean, its also very busy compared to all the other places on the south island. Today we packed the tent up and moved into a cabin so we can have somewhere to pack our bags ready for tomorrows flight. Not having to carry our bags for over a month as been really nice, but now its going to be a nightmare, especially as we now have a tent and two sleeping bags to carry as well, but we'll manage - we always do! After sleeping on the hard ground for the last month or so we are looking forward to a comfortable nights sleep on a matress, but it won't last for long as we are up tomorrow morning at 4am to catch a flight to Melbourne...thats going to be fun and games isn't it!!
