A 3 hour ferry ride across the Cook Strait brought us to a small town on the south island, Picton. We stopped here as it was the first port of call on the south island and our next destination is 2 hours away and Lee couldn't bothered to drive today! After 17 days in the car, you can imagine how dirty and smelly it was starting to get and it was driving Lynz crazy! So we took this opportunity to gut it out. The town of Picton itself is very nice and has a lovely beach and harbour, but you wouldn't spend more than a day here.
