After our five days in Melbourne we had decided to travel across to Adelaide for another five days before we got settled in Sydney. We looked at a few options on how to get there but decided on the train as it was the cheapest. Lucky for us we got upgraded to first class which made the 11 hour jouney alot more bearable. We had our own cabin and bathroom and all our meals were provided. We just wished the journey could have been longer!! Our hostel in Adelaide was above another pub, it wasn't intentional we just wanted somewhere central and cheap. The hostel was fine apart from some renovation work which was going on and ultimately meant we had no carpet or curtains. We did have a TV though, its amazing what we will put up with now just to watch a bit of telly!
We both really enjoyed our time in Adelaide, its a lovely city. We spent some time just walking round and seeing the sights, even though it was around 36 degrees most days, it was seriously hot. Whilst we were there the Adelaide Fringe festival was starting, which is like the Edinburgh festival. We soon realised that it was a big deal here and had a great time at the opening night party. It was literally just a big street party with loads of shows and performers, we were just sorry we couldn't see more of it.
We also spent the best part of a day in the Museum of South Australia and the Art Gallery of South Australia. In the art gallery we went on a guided tour so we could find out more about what we were seeing otherwise we would have been in and out in 5 minutes. It was well worth it though as we had a very enthusiastic guide and we learnt quite alot.
Well the next stop is the last for a while. Its time to get a job so we can fund some more travelling!!
