There was yet another amazing road from Wanaka to Queenstown quite like Dartmoor . . . Dartmoor with mountains. We stopped at a lookout over Queenstown which had a walk up to Rocky Peak. Another climb but yet again a stunning walk with amazing views. On the way down James realised that he did not have the van key on him ... I thought e was joking as he downed his all the time ... He wasn't. We ran down the hill staring at the ground to see if we could see it. When we got back we looked in the windows and could not see it inside either! We started talking about climbing back up the path to look for it (the path by this point had been ridden over by 3 motorcross bikes and we also did a section of the path!) Other tourists stared to talk to us and try to offer services when I saw the key peaking out from under the duvet inside the van . . . We had locked it in (again). James managed to flag down a pick-up and they luckily had a toolbox. James broke into the van again. Lets just say the first thing we did the next day when the shops were open was to get 2 spare keys cut! We camped that night at a lovely spot the other side of Queenstown (suggested to us by a couple from California at Kidds Bush) called Lake Moke. Yet again a beautiful spot and we had enough sunlight left to chill and read our books taking in the views. The next morning we both ran round the lake. We then headed into Queenstown and got the keys and went in our way. Queenstown was in an amazing location but it was also heaving with tourists and very expensive trips and extreme sports. Yet again we saved our pennies and ran for the countryside!
