Rarawa was a great place to camp. We had a great nights sleep then woke up to a beautiful morning and ran along the stunning beach (cover photo) and had a swim in the sea! We then drove up to Cape Regina which is where the Two Oceans meet (Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean) it is so interesting and mesmerising watching the waves meet and the whirlpools form. We then walked along the coast to Te Werahi Beach, which was huge! After the walk we went to walk on the Te Paki sand dunes they were so high and went on for miles. People were tobogganing down them! Then we stopped at Spirits Bay, the Maori believe that the spirits of the dead depart the earth from the tip of Cape Regina. We walked along the beach before it started to bucket it down, then it was lots of card games in the van!!! The next day we ventured over to the Karikari Peninsula where we stopped at another DOC campsite right on the coast at Maitai Bay. The bay is really lovely and we had a lovely walk and climb on the rocks (yet again just before the rain came!!!)
