Today was the big day!! Heading to pick becky up. I woke up around 7am completely buzzing! Anita is always an early riser too so we headed to joma for some breakfast. I had fruit whilst Anita had a pizza and a chocolate croissant; a hearty breakfast for a hearty girl! Becky had given me the flight details so I hopped on the airport shuttle bus for two dollars and arrived at Hanoi airport 45 minutes later. I arrived at 12 and checked my phone and had an email from becky saying her last flight was delayed so not to worry if she's slightly late. It struck me when I arrived at the airport that she Didnt send me the flight number, the terminal she was landing at or where she was flying from! I literally had no clue what flight she was on! It made me laugh though because that is such standard becky and Debra behaviour.
Two hours later and my daily exercise done for the day from waking between each terminal, I heard someone shout 'debraaaa!' . Yay! I ran over like a seen in a movie and gave her a hug. I can't describe how nice it was to see a familiar face after 7 weeks away! Amazing. We chatted and laughed then got the shuttle bus back into the old quarter! I helped becky sort out her money as its her first time dealing with Vietnamese money and then we left her luggage in. I introduced her to everyone in the hostel and was immediately so happy at how well everyone had taken to her. I knew that would happen anyway, like I said before, she is the only one out of the friend group I would travel with!
We then lay down for a while as she was pretty tired. We went and had dinner with Anita at phu10! It was pretty tasty. Back to the hostel and we got changed and decided to just go down for happy hour. After a couple of beers the drinking games began. Aiden is good at bringing groups together and making sure everyone participates so we ended up having a group of 20 playing kings. Our 'early night' we had planned had been quickly altered and we headed out to flow bar where becky and I had some dancing to catch up on! Once flow bar got shut down we headed to half man half noodle with a massive group. A guy from our hostel called Phil had to get up for ha long bay the following day and the last time I glanced at him he was hugging a plant for support. Brilliant. All in all becky had a great first night. We headed back to the hostel after and were out for the count.
