We all had a pretty horrendous night on the bus. No one slept a wink and we were all tired and sore from the cramped bed. We were still able to see the funny side through, even when we got a flat tire 3 hours from hoi'an. We stopped off at a little petrol station and loaded up on water. As we were about to get back on the bus, darius from the orphanage was asked to show his ticket. He booked separately from us and wasn't given a ticket. The bus man kicked him off the bus saying 'no ticket, no hoian!'. At the time we were all terrified that darius was going to get left in hue, then we sort of started laughing because of how ridiculous it was. Darius is a 6ft 7 German guy so we were sure he would be alright!
We arrived in hoian at around 2 and got a cab to 'sunflower hotel'. It's slightly more expensive at 11 dollars a night, however it has a pool and a breakfast buffet. We checked in and were impressed immediately! The pool was crystal blue and had people hanging out with good music playing! We got into our swimming gear and went for a dip. After an hour or so we headed to our room and darius knocked on the door. Luckily he was able to complain to the travel company and hop on the next bus!
After showering and chilling we grabbed a cab and headed into the old town for some food. We met up with Francesco and henny who were fellow volunteers at the orphanage and headed to the green chilli for some dinner. It was epic! I had chicken enchiladas and a side of rice washed down with a tiger beer! Francesco darius and henny headed out after dinner while Luca flo and I headed back to the room. We were exhausted from the journey! Bed time. Beach tomorrow.
