This morning was mels last morning as she was going to do ha long bay for three days and I would be heading to my placement on Sunday. We woke up at 7 so i could see her off which was tough! After I left her off I went back to bed for two hours, showered and then headed to do some solo sightseeing. It was really funny being on your own after being with someone for one month, but I enjoyed some alone time. I walked around with no map, sort of hoping to get lost, and I found a cool little art gallery. I really wanted to join in and cheekily asked if I could. They said sure and I ended up helping paint a really nice picture of some red trees! It was ace. I left feeling happy and the guys were pleased that someone wanted to help I think! I left the gallery and then decided to go see the doctor about my stomach, as it's still being mega gay. I hopped on the back of a moped, which was initially quite scary because the traffic in little Hanoi is intense. People speed about everywhere and there are thousands of mopeds. It is definitely the chosen method of transport. The man left me off and it cost me 50,000 dong, so about 1 pound 50 p. bargain! Everyone in the hospital was lovely and it went very smoothly, apart from minor language barriers. I explained my on going stomach issues and ended up getting a urine sample, blood test, ultrasound and physical examination. Everything came back clear and looking good and the doctor eventually came to the came to the conclusion I have dyspepsia, so here's hoping the new tablets do the trick!
I hoped back on the bike and got dropped off near the hostel. I saw chris and jonny walking down the road so went to join them as they picked up some lunch from the supermarket. We chilled in the hostel for a couple of hours and then chris said his goodbyes as he was leaving for Beijing to start teaching English! I will miss him, he was a nice guy and I wish I had of met him earlier. That's the one big con about meeting people when travelling, you have to say goodbye! Saying goodbye to Katie was hard too but hopefully I will see her at some point.
After chris left I then chilled in the dorm and chatted to wee Aussie Daniel. He was showing me pictures on his professional camera and they were ace. He volunteered as a swim instructor for disabled children in Vietnam so I was chatting to him about his experiences. He had a blast and actually got his volunteering for free. He nearly passed out when I told him I paid £500!
After some chatting jonny, Daniel, Anita and I went out to a place called 'kangaroo' for some western grub. I had a cheeseburger and it was pretty delicious. We were all exhausted today which was ridiculous considering it was a Saturday! We headed to bed and I text dad for a bit. Uncle lee also sent me photos of jay and Monica's wedding and I nearly shed a tear in the room! They Looked amazing :)
