Day 22. Actually we are farther than Tricastela, but the app can't find us. We're closer to Sarria. We went 30 km/almost 19 miles today with a lot of climbing! I feel like we are getting stronger. And (knock on wood) no current foot problems. Clare has ice on her knee as I type this in the bar, but she's quite the trooper--never complains.
We stopped early yesterday due to the rain, but today walked far and hard and are back on our schedule to finish on Friday. The scenery in this part of Spain is spectacular--green fields, mountains, rock walls, clouds obscuring parts of mountains. Even though the day today involved a lot of up (and down), we felt like we are well-trained, coming from WNC and Colorado. We ran into friends, Gracia and Max from Valencia, and we're all staying at an albergue just outside of Sarria. The villages we walked through seemed very old with houses made from rocks, lots of cows and chickens--definitely a much slower pace of life.
No sign of Father Freddy since yesterday. Hopefully we'll see him soon!
