Big day 16 today--31km/19.5 miles. We were tired at the end but definitely feeling stronger over the past weeks. We started at 8 and were at our albergue by 4, and that's with lunch and bathroom breaks. There were some hills today but nothing too hard. We were sitting outside a market eating our bread, serrano ham, semicurado cheese, yogurt, and potato chips, and an older guy came up and started talking to us--he told us that we are going to encounter "nieve"--SNOW! Another Camino obstacle meant to make us stronger! We met a priest from Colombia last night at our albergue--he was just starting his Camino and asked us a lot of questions (Clare translated the whole conversation!!), including, "What has been your favorite part of the Camino?" We said--the people we've met!! And we talked about the unity and comradery and positivity we experience on The Way. People are always helping or sharing with others--it's an amazing spirit. We wish that feeling for all of our friends and family back home on this day before the election. Peace.
