El Camino de Santiago
A long day today--about 30 km/18-19 miles. My feet and Clare's knee are feeling it, so we decided at dinner tonight that we will shorten our days some and make up time by renting bikes on the flat plains part of the Camino, the Meseta. I did wear my running shoes today instead of the light hikers, which helped. A lot of the past few days have been on paved paths or gravel roads, which are hard surfaces for feet apparently! Once we got to the Pilgrim Albergue in Santo Domingo (which dates from the 12th century), we showered, washed clothes, and had a great meal at a restaurant close by. We ducked in the church, which is 12th-14th century and was amazing! Now going to bed early!

Charlene Sounds like you all are doing great and have a great trip. Try wearing your running shoes for the next few days and see if that makes a difference. Good idea on shortening it up for the next day or two. You're doing great - Keep it up and I'm enjoying reading about your adventure.
Ali Take care of yourselves! I'm thinking of you....
