Tre's New York Adventure!
Hello!
Am I late again? Probably..! Hiro on fri was good! The place is very cool, unfortunately it's equally expensive! We had a lovely meal before going, the girls had mussels and I sat there with a plate of meatballs and chips! You can always rely on me to make it a classy affair! We also consumed two bottles of rather nice wine before heading up to Hiro. We got there a bit too early so it was still very quiet - so we got our entry wristbands and left! Went upstairs to a bar called Cobana and drank there for a few hours, then went down to Hiro about half midnight...it was busy then so we were ok! Dan, Helena and Vicky had a bit much to drink...Dan and Helena fell asleep in Hiro! Very funny. The walk home was funnier... we had Helena and Vicky leapfrogging while crossing 7th Avenue, and Vicky going into each apartment block we passed and pressing all the buzzers! Helena also needed the toilet and there wasn't one...but there was a phone booth...! It was also an eventful train home as we shared a carriage with a man (maybe an ex-woman, we weren't too sure..!) who wanted to start fights with everyone, Vicky of course was telling him/her to shut up, and was telling people to throw him/her off the train...anyway! We made it home so it's all good!
Saturday I had an architecture tour in Greenwich Village which was great! The weather was warm and sunny too. We saw the house where 'Little Women' was written, and learned that Washington Sq Garden is actually a mass grave from yellow fever times (!). Also saw some settings where SATC was filmed.
Sunday I went with Vicky to MOMA...also great. Had some really good photography pieces on show, and the Edward Munch exhibition is on. Monday eve Vicky cooked a big lasagne with chips, salad and garlic bread for us all which was lovely! Tues night our apartment had a little surprise party for her. She didn't guess the surprise so it worked out fine! Party food and balloons is never a bad idea :) no sausage rolls though, shops didn't have any! Most of you will know how much I love a sausage roll..! Never mind, my rum made up for it!
Arvind gets here in a couple weeks! And the girls have booked their flights!!!!! I'm so excited! Ele, Jo and A's will be here in Oct for a week!
Have I mentioned that I'm having a great time?..!!
love you lots
take care
