Tre's New York Adventure!
Helloooo!
It's Monday morning (how do Mondays come around so quickly!?). Had a great weekend! On Sat I had planned to go to Philadelphia...but ended up going to Boston instead! The bus place to go to Philly was shut, but just down the road there was an open Boston one - so we thought why not! Bought the non-refundable tickets and THEN realised it was a four hour journey!! haha. So armed with our "Top Ten Things To Do In Philadelphia", we arrived in Boston. We didn't even know where Boston was in relation to NY!! But we found the freedom trail and followed that through the city, and we went to the 'Cheers' Bar which was nice! It's a really nice city, completely different to New York. It reminded me more of English cities (in a good way!). It was a brilliant day, and the rain held off until the very end so we were lucky. It's alot colder up there too (it's North of New York as we now know!). Then Sunday I finally got to go skating in my park! Went with some of my flatmates. Was great, and no-one fell down, though we had lots of wobbly-almost-falls! After skating we went down to Chinatown to watch the New Year Procession. That was good, very busy, very colouful! Small dragons though! ha, i was expecting bigger ones! After that we went to Little Italy and had a lovely meal, then to a pub in Greenwich Village to watch some of the Superbowl and see what it's all about! Only do not get the game really...so was some lack of interest! I'd been told to cheer on Seattle so i did, and they lost!
So very full weekend but loved it. Next weekend will be a lot quieter due to budgeting! But hopefully every other weekend or few weeks we'll go visit a different city. Will hopefully get skating regularly too - it's much cheaper and more fun than the gym :-)
Tomorrow night I'm going to a bar underneath Grand Central Station with a group of girls, as admission and all drinks are free to ladies! So may not be in a very fit state for work on wednesday...!
Be in touch soon!
