Title: Wednesday, Day 4 Ashore in Horta

First thing this morning I went down town to check email. No answer from the guy in the Canaries.

I decided to just take a walk down the pier and ask around to see if anybody was looking for crew. I had pretty much made up my mind that if nothing turned up today, I was going to throw in the towel and get a ticket for home.

I talked to several skippers but each boat was all crewed up. I was tired of looking and didn't want to burn any more of my travel budget staying here in Horta. So I found a travel agent who spoke English very well and she made all the arrangements. Getting back to Cedar Rapids was problematic so I decided to change my plans to just fly to Boston and see my folks for a while until I could figure out my next move.
Tonight, I got everything packed and settled up with the Hotel. All I had to do in the morning is have my last breakfast and head for the airport.
