I managed to gather the nerve to tackle the Louvre this morning, although it wasn't so difficult because so many people had told me about the side entrance that supposedly no one knows about (although judging by the number of people who had told me of it, I expected it to be busy) but after seeing more than one hundred people lined up at the pyramid I sought out the other entrance and lo and behold - not one single person was there! I actually thought I must have made a mistake until a man looked up from his coffee to casually look in my bag and send me on my way to the ticket office! I bought a guide book because there were no more audio guides, but then just wanted to sit and read it because it was so interesting, so I only spent around two more hours there (saw Mona and a few other biggies) and then headed out to find some food, some grass and some sun!
On Sunday I headed out to Maisons Laffitte, where we stayed in 2000 when visiting Paris. It was quite easy to find the campsite on foot, in a beautiful spot by the river (I seem to remember Dad having a little trouble finding it last time...) After a quick scout around and lots of memories I walked to the Château, with a rest/sunbake along the way. It is a strange feeling to not recognise somewhere I know I have been before and then suddenly remember exactly what I will see around the corner!
