With Aurore away on horse riding camp for two weeks, I have had a very bus/metro orientated week with Louis! His knowledge is extraordinary and he honestly has no clue that no one else in the house is nearly as interested in all of it as he is (I think I must know more about the transport system in Paris than many Parisians by now!) We spent many hours working on his new bus map where my job is to use my extreme artistic ability to do bubble writing for the bus numbers that need to be white on a coloured background (harder than it sounds, since my taskmaster insists that they are all the same size and will send me back if the numbers aren't perfect) while Louis painstakingly draws the lines for the bus routes and makes sure that they all intersect where they should and have all of the right twists and turns. After we had finished though he presented the map to me as a gift! Even though I already have every single bus and metro map (every time Louis collects more from the station he gets extras for me as well) this one is definitely my favourite :)
We had many more park adventures as well, it is quite funny for me to see other children play in the sandpit with Louis and end up completely confused about what he is saying while building a metro line, with all of the correct stations in the correct order of course!
We also made a London double decker bus after Louis was so fascinated by my photos from London and based our design off a picture I had taken for him of an old bus - I taught him to say the destinations as he copied them down, Piccadilly Circus sounds very cute in a French accent!
It makes my day though when we are eating dinner and waiting for Caroline and Mathias to arrive home and he says to me 'This was a really good day, wasn't it?' Which cutely, is nearly every day :)
