Today was the public holiday, so had a relaxing morning and was going to catch up with Jette in Paris, but Mathias and Caroline suggested they take me to Versailles and the Château there for the afternoon, so did that instead. Versailles is an amazing place! The château is breathtakingly beautiful and the gardens were huge and stunning - I felt like I was in a Jane Austen book! Well I would have if there weren't so many people there (I think international tourists as well as Parisians and other French people in Paris for the long weekend) The line to go inside the Château was over five hundred metres long, in the very hot sun and didn't seem to be moving at all! So I said that I would just come back another day during the week and go by myself (I now know what it is like to drag a whining six year old around while trying to look at things... standing in a giant line would have been unbearable.. for all of us!)
Louis is quite funny when he gets upset (which is every five minutes) because as soon as something doesn't go his way he will scream and shout and stomp away (Caroline has nicknamed him Chewbacca, because that's the sound he makes) however it isn't so bad because he gets over it quickly, especially when he still doesn't get what he wants or he gets no attention from anyone for it! He will sometimes cry (the first time I heard him I thought he had chopped off a finger or something!!) but stops after a minute if he gets no attention...
But he is very cute and cuddly! The two most common words to come out of his mouth at the moment, probably the same for every six year old boy around the world, are 'cacca' and 'arrêt Aurore' (poo and stop it Aurore!) And two phrases I have learnt very quickly! Louis thought it was hilarious when I warned him he was about to step in some dog poo by saying 'Louis, Caca!'
