Unfortunately for Caroline, but somewhat fortunate for me in the end, she was up all of Saturday night being sick, so she didn't go to work on Monday which meant that she could show me how everything works in more detail, and come with me to pick up Louis and Aurore from school. It was very cute picking Louis up as he was very excited to see me and show me off to his teacher and friends (apparently I had been his news from the weekend) the fact that I don't speak French makes me even more of a novelty!
Each afternoon I buy some vennoise chocolat for their afternoon snack as we walk home (basically sugary white bread with chocolate chips) I still can't understand how the French aren't all fat from what they eat! We then walk to Aurore's school to meet her, stop to look at the trains on the way back and then catch the bus to just near the house, as they don't finish school until four thirty it as usually after five by the time we get home, then I give Louis his bath (this almost requires a wetsuit given his love of 'swimming' while in the bath, which closely resembles a fish flapping around in a bucket) and then I make dinner for the three of us (Caroline and Mathias eat later than 9:30 every night!) and then begin the terrible battle that is bedtime!
I brought some English/Australian books with me me to read to the children, their outright favourite is 'The Gruffalo' which is very cute, repetitive and funny (although they just laugh at my different voices for the different animals of course) and Louis loves to say 'Gruffalo!' in the appropriate places, which is just adorable!
