This week is only a two day school week for Aurore and Louis, as they always have Wednesdays off, Thursday is a public holiday which apparently means that school on Friday is pointless, so the schools just turn it into a five day weekend (apparently many businesses close until Tuesday as well - this comes just days after Caroline and Mathias swearing to me that they don't have many public holidays in France!) It is nice feeling that we are already in pretty good after school routine, the days are still perfectly warm - I think it is already hotter than a 'hot' Tassie summer :) and all of this sun is doing wonders for my tan!
This morning I went to the pool with Caroline and the kids for some swimming, we took it in turns to watch Louis and Aurore and swim laps - it was lovely to do some proper exercise! Although the pool is only twenty five metres and was packed with people, all swimming at different speeds in random lanes, so was very frustrating to constantly be overtaking slow people and being overtaken by fast people all in narrow and short lanes (especially for me who normally can't stand to share with more than one other person... I think I will have to get over that habit quickly though!)
Then it was the usual race around for me to take Aurore to gymnastics, then Louis to music, then pick up Louis, then pick up Aurore, which is quite hard work as we have to quickly walk a little way because they finish only ten minutes after one another, but a tired Louis likes to walk slower than a snail! It was quite funny for me at Louis' music class when the teacher talked to all of the parents (including me) for about fifteen minutes (in French!) about something that was clearly an important change to the classes.... I managed to pick up a time change and longer lesson for next week and talk about enrolling for next year.... but that's about all! Caroline later called to check what had been said and I was right (so that made me a little proud... hopefully by the end of the year I will be able to understand and relay the message myself!)
