What a day today has been. There are no words to describe how we are feeling at the end of a very long and traumatic day. We left Grass Patch early this morning, around 8.30am heading to Esperance, which is only about two hours south. We didn't even eat breakfast before we left, thinking we would get something once we were there. It should have been a smooth and easy drive, leaving us plenty of time to look around Esperance and get to our chosen location to camp...

Left the sports ground where we'd been camping overnight in Norseman around 10.30am and headed off to see some lookouts around town. We were impressed with the nearby lookout above the Norseman Goldmine, which is still a working mine today. Norseman and the surrounding Dundas Shire has a rich gold mining history going back over 100 years. We then explored some nearby salt lakes which were incredible to see as they spanned both sides of the road and went for miles...

Left our lovely spot in the bush quite late today but we knew it was going to be a day of driving until we reached the end of the Nullarbor. Other than stopping for lunch at a rest stop, we passed the day by listening to an audio book - The Rosie Project. The landscape seemed to be changing all the time, becoming even greener with more trees as we neared the end of the Nullarbor Plain.
