Another night of very little sleep - worrying obviously, but Gadi says it's because of the espresso martini, which despite being decaf, was really strong. So today I am off coffee!
Not much we can do in terms of getting things done re our caravan so after a quiet morning we decided to explore east of Esperance alongside the Cape Le Grand National Park - where we can't go because of Cadbury. The owner of the property told us their favourite beach is Whartons Beach near the national park. We were keen to explore. The drive there took us along some dirt roads that really showed us how bad the big bush fires last November in this region really were. The morning we had our accident we also saw remnants of the bushfire between Grass Patch, where we spent the night, and the next town south, Scaddon.
Despite the day being overcast and stormy looking, we were blown away with how beautiful the beaches here are. We ate a picnic lunch at Little Whartons Beach and then drove around to the main beach where lots of four wheel drives were on the sand. Of course Gadi wanted to drive on to the beach - and of course I wouldn't let him. I was nervous of something else going wrong. We drove back to where we are staying, made dinner and chilled out. We hope tomorrow will see the caravan repair guy write out a report and send it to the insurer, as without that report they are unable to begin the process of accepting our claim and assessing what happens next.
Let's hope tonight brings me some
much needed sleep and that tomorrow brings good news.
Night night xx
