The team of Master Trainers had arranged a trip to Thaksang or the Tiger's Nest together with Steffen's team. We were to meet at 6 o'clock in the morning and go by bus to Paro, walk uphill for 2 hours, spend some time at the monastery and then walk back downhill for 2 hours again. We should bring the lunch from the conference center and eat on the way. After Thaksang we should go and see some other nice places. I agreed to go as long as I could go on a horse uphill ;-) It is possible to go on a horse for about 4/5 of the uphill walk. I knew I wouldn't be able to walk all the way up ;-)
Apparently Thaksang is not meant for me to see though - on my first visit I had to decline because of the thin air that I wasn't used to and this time I woke up at 2 am feeling sick in my stomach. I didn't go back to sleep so at 5 am I had to send a sms to both Kinley and Steffen telling them I wasn't able to go L I finally fell asleep around 6 am and slept till noon. Then I felt better!
When Steffen came back he told me everything about the trip and apparently it had been really good. Everybody had had a hard time climbing the mountain to Thaksang and even some of the Bhutanese guys talked about giving up on the way. In the old days everybody here walked a lot, and at that time they would probably have run up the mountain, but nowadays they all drive cars till and from work and don't walk very much so it takes much more to walk uphill for 2 hours. Miss Kinley's knee was hurting a lot, and others had pains, too. But the monastery is beautiful and worth the pain they say :-)
Saturday night I had dinner with Steffen and Carsten at the restaurant here at Bhutan Suites. My stomach was much better but I still felt pretty tired.
Sunday was a relaxing day with reading, preparing for Monday's teaching and going downtown to the Jumolhari with Steffen - having noodles! We discovered that noodles are great here, so we'll have to go back for more soon :-) Steffen wants to buy a motorcycle if he comes back, so he tried to ask the waiters about places to buy one. It is a bit hard to find out if it is possible to buy one in Thimphu or not ;-)
My throat felt a bit sore tonight - I hope I am not getting more sick!

Helle Laage Hunø Hej Annie. Tak for din spændende blog.
Man bliver simpelthen visiteret.
