My last day at the Ministry - tomorrow morning I'll be off to Bangkok and then to Copenhagen. I am looking forward to seeing everybody now.
The Internet worked this morning so I got to check my mails and play my favourite game on Facebook before I left for the Ministry. At 10 am I made my last presentations on the Gelephu Centre and the job descriptions for Master Trainers and Pedagogical Tutors. It was a good meeting and everybody gave good comments.
Just before noon Chief Sangay said that he would like for me to meet the Honorable Minister! So we went to his office and had a nice cup of tea and a sandwich with the Honorable Minister, who is a very kind person and chatted for 20 minutes or so. I enjoyed this.
At lunch time Carsten and I went for a cup of coffee at the Khang Recidensy and the sweet Ms. Sonam was there. We had to say goodbye because she is off duty at 4 pm today and won't be here in the morning. She gave me a hug which I haven't seen very many Bhutanese people do and it touched my heart. I will go and see her again when I return and until then we'll keep in touch on Facebook.
The only things left for me to do in the afternoon was to send off the edited documents and my mission report but somehow Bhutan won't let go of me ;-) I could not access any pages on the net ending in .dk, so I couldn't go to my mail. Well, finally I gave up and went home to the hotel to pack my things and pay my bills. I will send the last documents whenever it is possible - tonight or when I get back to Denmark.
At 7 pm I met with Carsten downtown at the Taj Tashi - Carsten had invited me out for a goodbye dinner and this is a fantastic place with really good food. We spent a couple of hours together and had a great time. Carsten has helped me so much here and I am very grateful that he is here. It turned out that we well together, too - that was really great - it means a lot when you are working abroad.
So this is my last blog for now. Tomorrow morning it is: Bye, bye Thimphu and hello Denmark J I am to return to Thimphu on February 25.th. and I am sure I'll look forward to it when the time comes, but right now my thoughts are with my family and friends at home. See you all soon! Over and out from Thimphu this time around!
