Carsten and I went uphill to the Ministry together this morning - it still takes all my breath to climb the hill but I hope it will be easier soon. Come on blood cells - hurry up ;-)
At 1 pm I went back downhill (MUCH easier ;-)) to eat some lunch at the Bhutan Suites. I went to my room to find some rye bread, went to the bathroom ….. and jumped 5 feet! There was a giant spider in my bath tub! I haven't seen very many insects here yet so I didn't expect this at all. I had to take a picture of it of course. Here in Bhutan we don't kill animals so what to do? I used my towel as a tool, got the spider to climb onto it, carried it outside on my balcony and let it free. Hopefully he enjoyed it as much as I did ;-)
I was busy sorting the material for the Master Trainer course and putting it in right sequence today. Karma Dorji printed it all and tomorrow we will make a master copy and if that is fine, it is to be copied to all participants.
Coming home from work today I was met with a temperature of 30 degrees (85 degrees Fahrenheit) or something like that! We have under floor heating at the hotel, which is wild luxury here but nevertheless difficult to control because it takes a long time before you feel the adjustments you make. So the door of the balcony got opened very fast and I turned down the heat - tomorrow I'll find out if I turned it down too much ;-)
Steffen and I had agreed to go out for dinner so we met at the reception around 7 pm so find a taxi. Before we left we asked the kind receptionist if it was possible to take the blocking off Youtube and the Flash program. Steffen explained that we use the programs for our work and that it is very important for us to be able to have access. The receptionist promised to remove the blocking tonight and talk to the manager about the problem. So we left - looking forward to be able to upload photos when we came back home.
We went to Hotel Jumolhari to eat - Steffen had been there by himself the other night and said it was a great place with a really good restaurant. When we arrived I remembered the place - Carsten had taken Lasse and me there on our first night in Thimphu. I just didn't know the name - everything was so new and different that night so even listening to a name that Carsten mentioned was apparently too much for me ;-) We enjoyed a very nice dinner with a beer (Druk 11000), water and coffee and paid less than 75 kr. for it each!
We rushed back to the hotel to upload all our photos ……. and found that the Internet was down L We couldn't help laughing - such luck we have!
PS. The cherry trees are blooming in FEBRUARY!
