What a frustrating morning - there was absolutely no Internet at the hotel - I think I tried to get online 25 times ;-) On my way out I asked in the reception if it was all over the Khang and they told me yes: neither the reception nor the office had any Internet either.
At the Ministry the Internet was also very unstable. Facebook was blocked as usual but even getting connected to my mail at AARHUS TECH was difficult. So I started working on my presentations for tomorrow and the job description for master trainers and pedagogical tutors. When I finished this I succeeded in emailing it (hurrah) to Carsten for his comments. It didn't take him long to come up with some excellent comments and I went to see him in his office for a little while. We agreed upon having lunch together later in the day. It is good to get away from the Ministry for lunch - to clear my head so to speak ;-) We ended up going downtown eating at the new popular Dutch inspired café. Very nice indeed.
During the afternoon I tried to email my draft for the job descriptions to everybody at the Ministry so we could discuss that tomorrow, too, but the Internet was SOOOO bad. Sometimes I would get connected to my mail, but then it failed when I tried to attach my file. Or it failed when I tried to put the receivers on the mail. And it was slow! I think I spent half the afternoon waiting for my computer to stop searching, and the other half closing Explorer and opening a new one to see if that helped! Finally at 4.15 I succeeded in getting the draft sent! And went home afterwards.
At dinner at the Khang Mr. Kaka told me that he had called the Internet provider who had told him that a server in the southern part of Bhutan had broken down and was causing all the problems.
Still tonight there are some websites I can't access but Facebook is ok (well not the games, but the wall and the chat). So I got to talk a little bit with Oliver and I got my blog uploaded from yesterday :-)
I started packing my things tonight - I wonder if I'll have to buy another suitcase? Well, maybe I'll just leave a few things in Carsten's office. I guess that is cheaper. And next time I'll bring less (I hope) ;-)
