Thimphu, Bhutan
Saturday morning Aksel and I decided to go to the bank and exchange the rest of our foreign currency into Ngultrum so we were ready to do some big shopping during the weekend :-) First free weekend in Bhutan - nice! It was raining a little so we took a taxi downtown, got some Ngultrum and walked back to one of the big shops in the center of…
Dutch Hi Jaclyn, thanks for your message! Namgay surripses me every day. You have to read my book before you go! I am so excited about your trip. It's going to be amazing! Have you read So Close to Heaven by Barbara Crossette? It's got a nice section about Bhutan. I haven't read another book besides it and Jamie Zeppa's Beyond the Earth and Sky that do such a nice job of evoking Bhutan. There's one coming out called Blossom Rain by someone who went on the Snowman Trek-- the most difficulty trek in the world-- across Bhutan. I think he did it more than once, which is crazy wonderful. It also comes out in April. Cumberland Gallery will have my book launch in Nashville on April 7th from 5 - 8pm-- also paintings by Namgay. Please come and definitely bring Doc and Deb. And lets get together before you leave!

re: NirvanaSanjay Somewhere in NYI'll have to look into the EEOC further. I've seen pelpoe who came back from disability and within a month they were forced into resigning because of the new Q/A process. People who had been here for 10 or more years, over the age of forty, forced to quit because they, within the last 6 months, could not keep up with the workloads. This is a great tool to develop a lawsuit. I'm in!

re: Please, please - let us throughMihaela Oh for the love of all that is holy, you are THE. BEST. I want to say 1,000 wonderful thngis about this (I tried a bit of haggis once. I can't remember it, but I do know the thought of it makes me want to cry for baby Jesus. And blood sausage? Really? I mean, is that really necessary?) lovely blog entry, but my brain is fried. Fried! Work.Stress.Life.Marrying "that foreigner" as we call him has been such an eye (read heart) opening experience. And we're from relatively similar cultures! I often wonder how loving Namgay and Bhutan has ripped your world open. Mostly Mark has taught me the fine art of gratitude. My American-ness sometimes feels like a never ending cycle of want and greed. My husband experiences joy and gratitude over thngis I normally dismiss. It cracks my heart open. I need to shut up because I'm rambling like a crazy person.
re: Travelling to BumthangAnni West Yes, Aksel is single ;-) Divorced - do you want his e-mail ;-)
re: Goodbye and a good laughAnni West Hi Rayn, Actually we all did the exercise the day before and then this guy went to all the class before the final test :-)
re: Goodbye and a good laughRayn Sorry, I misread what you wrote, I thought the entire class went around wishing each other luck, not just one guy. I think i like this Aksel guy! He is smart, and funny,...is he single?
