We had a great time in Burgos, but time to move on...and we're moving on in a different way--on bikes! For 3 days you can call us bicigrinos (peregrinos/pilgrims on bicycles). We plan on riding from Burgos to Léon--normally a 7-8 day trip. Partly because we needed to cut a few days somehow (in order to make our 27 days to Santiago) and partly because our feet and knees are having issues, we decided to rent bikes for 3 days and ride across a flat area called the Meseta--except today's ride was not flat!! We didn't leave the bike shop in Burgos until 11:30, then rode on a great bike path with 2 lanes out of the city, then lots of rolling hills and one very big hill with 12% grade going up and 18% grade going down--I walked both with my bike--John rode both. Along the way we passed people we had met from earlier on The Way. The feet are definitely feeling better tonight, and I was so happy not to be walking on the gravel or road of large, round rocks that we were riding on most of the day. Ok, so my seat is a little sore from the riding even though I did get the gel seat cushion. But it's good to have something different hurting tonight. We rode about 60 km (about 37 miles) today. When we got to our final destination today, we decided to stay in an albergue called En El Camino de Boadilla. It's a good atmosphere with a delicious communal meal!
