The last few days have literally been spent "off exploring". We discovered the "Green Market" which was fruit, vegetables and flowers and the Fish Market. It was really interesting to see the different types of fish here. Markets are the same the world over and I love the shouting and the colourful characters who match the voices!
There is also a Farmers market on the promenade where we bought locally made delicacies of marinated anchovies, cheese and chilli peppers stuffed with anchovies.
It's just as well we walk everywhere, otherwise we would be rolling!
There is no need to set an alarm here, every morning at 6 o'clock, the bells start ringing. After a few days, we find ourselves unconsciously listening for them to check on the time.
Tourist numbers are steadily increasing and sometimes it can be a tight squeeze in the narrow streets. We were lucky to come early and avoid the crowds. Last night we returned to the bar I told you about. Ivana gave us a warm welcome and we spent a very pleasant couple of hours eating, drinking and making merry with the locals.
This morning we are catching a bus to Sibenik where we'll hire a car to drive to Kalpic, an "agrotourism" farm. We are staying there a couple of days and exploring the surrounding countryside.
