Teaching is over!!!!
I'm sitting in a near empty apartment, with most of my stuff packed around me, except of course my trusty laptop, that has been one of the most useful tools in my teaching experience, but also for keeping you all updated. This will soon enough be packed too, and i'll be on my way to Guilin with Matt and Scott.
My teaching is over, as is my time in Changsha. Was it hard to say goodbye? not really, they are kids who although you have your favourites in the class, most are just a face in the crowd. Saying goodbye to the assistants and the other teachers in my office may be slightly tougher, but that is still yet to come.
I've just said goodbye to Soren, and Cassie left yesterday - both bound for home after a short stint in Bejing (Soren however has secured a job in Changsha for next semister). Over 5 months I've been with them, feels like an eternity, but a split second also, goodbye just didn't do it justice.
I'm sure I will here all about their travels and adventures through some means of communication in the future. Anna is going to Beijing also, leaving later 2night and has many travel plans before going home to go to uni.
Sent some of my stuff home yesterday so i would have less to carry, however in my wisdom I ticked the send by land box, so 3 months before it arrives. Now some of you maybe quicker than I am, cause it took me a long time after sending the parcel to think . . . I live on an island, can you send something by land??? well i'll sure find out, if I receive the parcel on my arrival home or if it is, like my xmas pressies from home, lost in the world of the postal service.
So Guilin here I come, i'll try my best to keep you updated with my adventure and the stories of the Matt and I whilst we travel around China. Scott is only going to Guilin with us, and heading else where afterward, but i'm sure we'll meet lots of others on the way.
Until next time
