SCHOOLS OUT FOR SWINE FLU, SCHOOLS OUT FOR EVER . . . well at least til the end of the week.
Yep the dreaded swine flu has hit Changsha - my classes on monday were hit badly, in one class half the class were not present, and apparently in other classes there were only about 10 students. So since it is a boarding school and everyone lives in such close proximities to each other the school has closed for the week and all the children sent home.
6th period on monday the decision was made, and all the parents (over 2000) were phoned to collect their child. In a way i'm really glad, cause I was not prepared for my evening classes that normally take place on monday night, but i'm also unhappy about the school closing because i'm now sitting in an office with nothing to do, how many times can one person lose at the game of FreeCell?
Only one of our schools have closed, so we still have to go to East Campus, Shazitang and Kindergarten - in this spare time that I have, one would think I could be planning these lesson plans, oh well sure i'll find time to squeeze that in to my busy schedual.
Anna and Matt had a cold the previous week, both have been tested for H1N1 - negative. Scott on the other hand, results are not back but with the raised temperature he is confined to the apartment - lucky thing. He gets out of the cleaning of the office and activity rooms, damm maybe I should get myself sent back, could catch up on some well deserved sleep.
Well I've exhausted the topic of swine flu for the time being, and I may now have to either tidy the office, do my lesson plans or find something else to occupy my precious time.
