got my timetable and who I'm gonna be working with, got grade 2's so aged about 6. This is cool, it was about the age I was hoping for, and the age I have most experience with.Went into the classes today, just to say hi, they are all soooo cute, get a Chinese assistant in with my lessons tho so they can translate and help organise if need be. slightly put of by this, really wanted to do it on my own, but sure it'l be fine, hope they don't take over.
Our main location is at the boarding school, however on wednesdays we go to the other primary school, and then on the fridays we go to the Kindergarten. Don't no where these are, but was under the impression they were not close by. At other school, they plan to give us different age groups, just to interest things. Most people seem to be happy about that due to most not getting first age choice. Matt really wanted older one's - he got grade 1. Anna really wanted younger ones - she got grade 6 (don't no why they don't swap)
It was Soren's birthday yesterday, so cake and beer to end the really long day. Up early for breakfast, somehow I was the only one up on time, China really has changed me lol. The fantastic thing about our timetable is - the nap!!! its scheduled for 12.30-14.30 and we get to go back to our apartment and sleep. I think everyone of us took full advantage of this.
Food in the canteen is ok, was stew for lunch and mince and tatties (almost) for dinner. On tue and thur lunch tho we've been informed we'll be given western food. Also we were the only people in the canteen to be using chopsticks. really never thought that would happen in China. Apparently the children aren't allowed them due to the pointy ends being good weapons.
Gonna be getting new sim card for my phone due to one I have being to expensive to use in Changsha, hopefully get that 2mo and i'l let everyone no my new one. also get to open a chinese bank account soon. Also starting Mandarin lessons again soon, really need to learn something, would hate to leave china knowing nothing lol.
p.s. seemed to have brought the Scottish weather to Changsha :( rain, rain and more rain since we got here- comments
